These Terms & Conditions form the agreement between Lori Young Photography (“the Photographer”) and the individual(s) named on the booking form (“the Client(s)”).
By booking the Photographer, the Client(s) confirm they have read, understood, and agreed to the following terms.
1. Booking & Payment
A booking is confirmed only once all of the following have been completed:
- A completed booking form
- A signed contract
- Payment of the non-refundable retainer
The retainer secures the Photographer’s time and services for your wedding date and forms part of the total fee.
A statutory 14-day cooling-off period applies from the date of payment, in line with UK consumer law. After this period, the retainer is non-refundable.
The remaining balance is due no later than four weeks before the wedding date. Failure to pay the balance by the due date may be treated as a cancellation by the Client(s).
All prices are inclusive unless otherwise stated. Prices may be subject to change, but will not affect confirmed bookings.
2. The Photography Service
The Photographer will provide wedding photography services in a style consistent with the portfolio and body of work displayed on the Photographer’s website and social platforms.
The Client(s) acknowledge that photography is a creative process and that the Photographer retains full artistic discretion over:
- Composition and framing
- Use of light and available conditions
- The selection of images delivered
- Editing style and colour treatment
- RAW/unedited files are not supplied under any circumstances.
While reasonable efforts will be made to accommodate specific requests, the Photographer cannot guarantee the capture of any particular image, individual, or moment.
3. Creative Direction & Collaboration
The Photographer works collaboratively with each couple and is happy to offer guidance, structure, or creative input where desired.
If the Client(s) choose to take creative control over elements such as locations, timings, or styling, the Photographer cannot be held responsible for resulting limitations or outcomes.
The Client(s) understand that lighting, weather, and venue restrictions may impact the final images, and agree that minor variations in colour or exposure are a natural part of wedding photography.
4. Client Responsibilities
The Client(s) agree to cooperate fully with the Photographer to allow the best possible coverage of the day.
This includes:
- Providing accurate timelines and key information in advance
- Informing the Photographer of any venue or ceremony restrictions
- Ensuring the Photographer has reasonable access to key moments
The Photographer cannot be held responsible for missed images due to delays, guest interference, restricted access, or changes made on the day.
5. Exclusivity & Other Photographers
Lori Young Photography shall be the sole professional photographer engaged for the wedding day unless otherwise agreed in writing.
The Photographer cannot be held liable for compromised coverage caused by guests, content creators, or additional photographers obstructing or interrupting the Photographer’s work.
6. Image Delivery & Storage
A small selection of preview images may be provided following the wedding; however, previews are not guaranteed, particularly during peak season.
The full edited gallery will be delivered via Pixieset within ten weeks of the wedding date.
Online galleries are available for 12 months from the date of delivery. The Client(s) are strongly advised to download and back up their images promptly.
The Photographer is not responsible for image loss once the gallery period has expired. In some cases, galleries may be re-uploaded, subject to availability and an archival fee.
7. Copyright & Usage
Copyright of all images remains with the Photographer in accordance with the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988.
The Photographer grants the Client(s) a non-transferable, royalty-free licence for personal use, including printing and sharing with friends and family.
Images may not be sold, altered, or used for commercial purposes without prior written consent.
8. Portfolio & Promotional Use
The Photographer may wish to use selected images from the wedding for portfolio, website, social media, and promotional purposes.
The Client(s) understand that this helps showcase the Photographer’s work and creative style. However, the Photographer fully respects that some couples may prefer their images to remain private.
If the Client(s) wish to restrict or decline the use of their images for promotional purposes, this can be requested at any time by notifying the Photographer in writing. Such requests will always be honoured without question.
Images shared in password-protected online galleries are not publicly accessible and are not considered public display.
9. Cancellation, Postponement & Force Majeure
In the event of cancellation by the Client(s) after the cooling-off period, the retainer remains non-refundable.
If cancellation occurs within one month of the wedding date and the Photographer is unable to rebook the date, no refund will be due.
In the event of illness, injury, or circumstances beyond the Photographer’s control, all reasonable efforts will be made to source a suitable replacement. If this is not possible, liability is limited to a refund of fees paid.
Force majeure events include, but are not limited to, serious illness, natural disasters, government restrictions, or other circumstances beyond reasonable control.
10. Liability & Limitation
While all reasonable steps are taken to safeguard images, the Photographer cannot be held liable for loss, damage, or failure beyond reasonable control.
In the unlikely event of total photographic failure, liability is limited to a refund of fees paid.
The Client(s) are strongly advised to take out appropriate wedding insurance.
11. Privacy
Personal data is handled in accordance with the Photographer’s Privacy Policy, available on the website.
12. Governing Law
This agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, and the parties submit to the jurisdiction of the English courts.
